Jeffrey Herbst

Artistic Director

Jeffrey Herbst has been Artistic Director for American Folklore Theatre since 1993. He has worked on over thirty original productions with the company since 1991 including Guys on Ice, Lumberjacks in Love, Belgians in Heaven, and Bone Dance. Mr. Herbst was instrumental in developing AFT’s New Works Program and the Fred Alley New Musical Fund, nurturing writing teams in bringing an original work from “the page to the stage.” Mr. Herbst has an MFA in Acting from the Asolo Conservatory and has performed on Broadway and Off-Broadway, as well as at regional theatres throughout the United States.
