Each year over 40,000 devoted patrons enjoy a cozy night of comedy and musical theater under the stars at glorious Peninsula State Park Amphitheater in Fish Creek, Wi. Always Original, Truly Professional, Memorably Musical – AFT is a unique and wonder-filled theatre experience, one where even getting to your seat is a joy.

AFT's classic Fishing for
the Moon returns! …
Will confusing calamities ensue when a Southern gentleman rides north, seeking a crazy Union officer who thinks his cows are soldiers? You betcha! Set in rural Wisconsin after the Civil War, this lighthearted romantic comedy features a harebrained cast of characters. Shirlene, the officer’s weary wife, has made his life forever miserable by selling his prize bull while he was off at war. Meanwhile, the local school teacher rebuffs the smooth talk of a persistent raconteur while an earnest young woman tries to awaken her true love from amnesia with the smell of Parisian soap. Fishing for the Moon was last produced at AFT in 1999, and was the first collaboration between Fred Alley and James Kaplan, the team that created AFT hits Lumberjacks in Love and Guys on Ice.
Our 2008 Summer Season will also feature the AFT classic musical comedy
Lumberjacks in Love
…
Lumberjacks in Love returns to the AFT stage for the first time since 2005 after overwhelming requests from AFT fans. Four burly lumberjacks live in a state of manly bliss at the Haywire Lumber Camp in Northern Wisconsin – until an encounter with a plucky mail order bride interrupts life as they know it. The result is big belly laughs and beautiful music. Lumberjacks is one of AFT’s all-time box office hits and celebrates a world where bath time is once a month and the blast of a dinner bell brings the boys running. Lumberjacks in Love is a must-see for any AFT fan!
Summer 2008 will also see the reprise of our newest musical comedy,
A Cabin with a View...
The show was created by Paul Libman and Dave Hudson who brought us
Muskie Love in 2004...The year is 1959. The place is University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Lucy has recently been 'pinned' by Chip Davis and seems well on her
way to the proper degree for a young lady of that era - her M.R.S. However,
that summer she takes a trip out West to the Lazy Rapids Ranch and meets
George, a young non-conformist who, along with his uncle, shakes up
her very notion of what to expect out of life. Will she choose the safe
and predictable path with Chip, or break the mold with George? Only
time will tell. Complete with a range of sounds from the fifties - from
girl groups, folk songs, to cowboy music - A Cabin with a View is a
wonderful new romantic musical comedy adapted from E.M. Forster's Room
with a View, with a very American touch.
We perform our summer shows outdoors in an amphitheatre under a canopy of trees and stars in a beautiful wooded setting within Fish Creek's Peninsula State Park, Door County's largest state park.
